If you are planning your wedding right now, make sure that you take transportation into consideration. If you are planning on getting ready with your wedding party at one location, having first look or bridal portraits taken at another venue and the ceremony and reception are at different locations, you are going to want to plan for transportation for the wedding party so that everyone is together. You don't want to be waiting on one member of your wedding party to make it to the photo shoot because they got lost along the way. The best way to ensure that your wedding plans go off seamlessly is by arranging transportation for your entire wedding party. Here are a few things you need to consider when arranging and renting a limousine service.

You Need A Basic Timelines

You do not have to have every second of the day mapped out, but you do need to establish a basic timeline. This will help you determine when you need the limousines to pick you all up, how long you'll need them for and how much driving you'll actually expect them to perform.

Sit down and make a schedule for the wedding day. For the bridal party, take into consideration where you will be getting ready at, where pictures will be taken, and transportation to and from the ceremony and the reception. For the groom's party, you also need to think about what time they will all meet up and get together; they may not need as much time as the bridal party to get ready, but they do need a set start point to group together before the pictures and formal matters start to take place.

When you call the limousine company, having a timeline in place will help you get more specific and detailed with your rental agreement.

Plan For The End Of The Night

At the end of the reception, everyone in the wedding party is going to need to get back to the hotel that they are staying at or back to their vehicles. Make sure that you take into consideration how everyone is going to get home as well.

For example, if you all meet up and leave your cars at the hair salon on one end of town, but end the night out in the country at the local wine estate for the reception, you are going to need to make sure that your wedding party can get back to their vehicles or back home safely.

It may be easier to have the limousine pick up the wedding party at your final destination and then transport everyone to the first stop on your timeline so that at the end of the night, your wedding party has access to their vehicles.

Bride & Groom

You also need to think about how you and your spouse, the bride and groom, plan on getting from the ceremony to the reception, and from the reception to wherever you plan on spending your first night as a couple.

Do you want to use the limousines that you have already rented for the rest of your wedding party to get from the ceremony to the reception? Do you want to rent an additional limousine just to transport you alone together from the ceremony to the reception? Do you want the limousine to wait during your entire reception to take you home at the end of the night, or do you want to do something different, like rent a fancy car to drive away in?

As you ponder these transportation questions for the bride and the groom, take into consideration that many limousine companies have minimum time requirements for renting limousines, so if you want solo transportation for the bride and the groom, you will need to rent the limousine for at least the minimum time required.

Appoint A Point Person

Finally, once you decide on your timeline and how you want to transport everyone around, find a limousine company and arrange and pay for everything, you are going to want to find a point person to be in charge of any transportation concerns the day of the wedding.

On your wedding day, you do not want to be stressing about when your limousine is going to arrive or what to do if for some reason the limousine you picked out beforehand ends up not being available. You are going to want to have someone in your wedding party to be the point person for all of these concerns. Choose this person, and go over your timeline and rental agreement with them. Then, make sure that this person has all the contact information they need for the limousine company (like After Five Limousines) and make sure that the limousine company knows that this is whom they are to contact the day of with any last minute changes and adjustments.
