Most people have that one friend that is ultra focused on their career. Maybe they are an entrepreneur trying to build up a company. Maybe they work in a field that requires putting in more weekly hours than other fields in order to get ahead. No matter the reason, a work-life balance is important to strike early on. Some professionals have a harder time breaking away from working to have fun because of the guilt factor. Here are some steps to take to throw a bash for a hard working friend that deserves it.

Let them know you want to see them

Sometimes when you are in work mode, it can be easy to block out the rest of the world. Call your friend and let them know just how much you miss them. Plan out a night for them to block out so that the two of you can see one another. Plan for a weekend night and let them know just how much you appreciate their time as a friend.

Rent out a party bus

If your friend works hard, it is likely that they may be tired at the end of the week and want to skip out on driving. Cut this problem out for everyone by renting a party bus. Not only will the party bus put everyone in perfect partying mode, it also cuts out the chance for your friend to decline the invitation. Show up in their driveway with the bus already loaded with your friends to get started partying.

Make a 10-minute work talk rule

When you all enter their party bus, you should have a fully stocked bar and the best music readily available to enjoy. When your friend gets into the bus, make a 10-minute rule to talk about work. Ask them for updates on how work has been going and give them 10 minutes in general to speak. After the 10 minutes, catch up with one another on life and partying and completely bar work talk. This will help to relax and be present in the party experience, rather than still being occupied by work.

Try out the latest club or bar

If your friend has not been out of the social scene for a long time, there is a high likelihood that they have missed some new nightclubs or bars that have opened in the neighborhood. Find the latest club or bar, depending on what your friend enjoys and get your party on the VIP list. Getting on the VIP list or reserving a table means less waiting around and more enjoyment. Be sure to let you friend know throughout the night, just how much you appreciate their time and why they deserve to get away like this on a regular basis.
